Women: What to Pack for Morocco in October

The hardest part about being prepared for an October vacation in Morocco is being ready to experience all the seasons in one week! Morocco has a reputation for being a “cold country with a hot sun”, and when Autumn begins, you really experience this.

There’s no specific month which is best to visit Morocco, but it is good that in October the high temperatures start cooling down and make it more bearable to walk around during the day. With the temperature changing, our capsule wardrobes must change a little too.

Like the traditional capsule wardrobes we created for what to pack for Morocco, lightweight and loose-fitting clothes are still the best options to be able to layer both up and down. For women wondering what to pack for Morocco in October, light trousers, loose jeans, and short-sleeved shirts that cover your shoulders and bottom are perfect for a hot day. But don’t forget sun hats and linen shirts to keep you safe from the sun too!

The biggest change we’d make to the staple Morocco capsule wardrobes would be swapping in a waterproof, as showers are sometimes frequent when heading into autumn months. Similarly, it might be a good idea to pack an umbrella!

By adding in an extra layer, you should have all bases covered. A shirt for the day to cover up from the sun, a warmer layer such as a hoodie or cardigan for colder evenings, and waterproof for any stormy spells.

For children, swap out one of the short-sleeved t-shirts for a hoodie in case little ones get colder in the evenings.

General capsule travel wardrobe rules of thumb:

As with all our capsule wardrobes, we would recommend sticking to the basics:

  • 3 casual t-shirts (maybe 2 long-sleeved)
  • 2 formal tops
  • 1 pair of jeans
  • 2 pairs of long trousers (lighter fabrics such as linen are better for warmer days)
  • 1 cardigan/jacket
  • 1 pair of trainers and a pair of sandals

Always wear your bulkiest items on the plane:

You want to be traveling as light as possible, so make sure to wear your long-sleeved t-shirts, jeans, and trainers on the plane to keep your travel-on spacious.

Light layers that can be layered:

Even though we are throwing in warmer layers in the fall for the evenings, the days can still be warm. So, you’ll want light layers that can be easily removed and added depending on the temperature.

Neutral color palette:

Choosing similar colors will allow you to easily create new combinations of outfits, as well as help the layering process – even more important in the colder months!

Capsule Wardrobe Ideas for October in Morocco – Women

This is my standard capsule wardrobe for Morocco however it has an addition for the potentially colder weather. While I still think a pair of sandals will serve you well you could also swap these out especially if you’ll be in mountain areas.
