As a business professional (I hold an MBA in Project Management) I understand the importance of word-of-mouth advertising and the value of a strong online presence for brands and businesses. Through online marketing, I was able to build a successful business from nothing to a six-figure business in just over a year. This website is an extension of myself, bringing together the things that I love and care about to share with others who have similar passions.
MarocMama is a blog that helps travelers connect with people and places on a more authentic level, have experiences outside their comfort zones, and explore the world through food. It is a Morocco travel blog but also offers content from non-bucket-list destinations around the world and specializes in culinary travel. MarcocMama offers travel stories that bring readers along on the journey, honest and practical advice to help travelers plan their own adventures, and traditional recipes from around the world.

Testimonials
“Amanda has been a great asset to Journey Beyond Travel’s efforts at becoming Morocco’s most well-known tour operator offering private trips. Her blog is our number one referral partner, consistently delivering honed traffic to our website each month. On average, a high percentage of those referrals contact us about an experiential excursion in Morocco using our services; many each year become clients. We see our partnership with Amanda as invaluable and a key marketing strategy for our small business; trusted bloggers who share their real experiences is a powerful medium in which to gain virtual ‘word-of-mouth’ clientele”. – Thomas Hollowell
“We have worked with Amanda since early 2016 and more closely with her and her internet site MarocMama since she toured with our company Amazing Journeys Morocco in March 2016. She has passed a number of leads on to us as opportunities have come up and other readers have contacted us directly as a result of her stories. People are impressed with what she has to say! In our experience Amanda keeps her word and we are happy to support her. ” – Julia and Lahsen ATTA Desert Camp

Hello! I am traveling to Morocco this summer as part of a teacher creativity grant. I teach French and Francophone cultures in Indianapolis and will be in Marrakech on June 27, 28, 29 finishing out a 12 day tour of the country. I would love to meet you for anything from a brief interview to dinner to a tour of a local school if any of that is possible or if you have other ideas (and obviously if you are available!). In addition to personal renewal and discovery, I want to bring back authentic details about the culture/land/food/etc. to our high school students. Even being able to set up a sort of penpal exchange or teacher to teacher exchange in the future would be amazing! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond. Best, Jill

Hi Jill - wishing you all the best with your visit. I won't be here in June as I spend my summers in the US with my US based family. I would suggest reaching out to the American school or the French Institute who might be be in a better position to connect you with the education community here in Marrakech. Have a great trip!

Look for Moroccan bakeries though they can be hard to find depending on the country you live in. Usually larger cities may a grocery store that sells Moroccan things. Mediterranean grocery stores or specifically Middle Eastern may also have it.

Hi Amanda, My wife and I are frequent travelers but we've yet to come to Morocco and we are now considering a 2 week trip. Do you work one on one with travelers via email to help create an itinerary for them? If so, it's something we may be interested in. Thanks--Don

Trying to make the Tomato and Onion Salad, however the amount of olive oil is confusing. The recipe calls for 3 Tbsp cup olive oil, what is the correct amount? Thanks.

Hello! My daughter and I are hoping to travel from Algeciras, Spain to Tangier in April 2022. It is my understanding that the ferry between the two ports is still not running. Is that correct? Any other ideas on how we could spend a day in Tangier? Thank you so much!!
