A Little Love for A Lucky You {Giveaway}

Relaxing Giveaway

That sneaky little Valentine’s Day holiday is upon us and you can’t help but run into red, white, and pink hearts at every turn. Many Muslims don’t celebrate this holiday (or many others for that matter) but I thought that everyone would be interested in a little something special this time of year.  Sadly I can’t give you each a trip to the spa to relax.  BUT I am going to do something….

I am putting together a special package for one lucky winner.  Inside will be some of my favorite things.  I’m not going to list all the details because I might tailor the contents to the winner.  No matter what there will be chocolate involved!  I want a way to reward a lucky reader with something special to make their day.   Here’s how you get the chance to win;

  • Leave me a comment below telling me a special memory you have with a loved one.  It could be a child, spouse, parent, or friend.  You can also leave me a reason why you would like to win this super cool prize!

That’s it.  Seriously!  If you’ve got your own website make sure to leave that to (in case you’re the winner I want to find out more!) Now because MarocBaba has so many special memories for me and he has no clue who anyone online is (to make it fair)  he’s going to be in charge of selecting a winner.  So make sure to leave me (him) a great comment!!

Deadline for entering is Sunday February 12th.  The winner will be notified on Monday the 13th.

    My most beautiful memory is rather strange…me and my hubby were on our way to a vacation in Egypt. We set off from home to catch the flight in the nearby city of Manchester (England). It was new years day,early morning. It were freezing conditions and our car skidded on the motorway…whizzes and whirls!! My whole 25 years of life in front of my eyes.but Alhamdulillah we were safe though are car completely damaged.we missed the flight…I thought we might go back home now…but my hubby made a surprise decision. He said we should just go to the airport. We went…explained our scenario to the airline rep and he kindly got us on the next plane, no extra charges. Have to say it was the best holiday ever! I love my hubby for making me forget that horrible accident we were in.
    I would love to get a chocolate gift as I absolutely adore all things chocolate and all things Moroccan…thank you!

      Wow such a scary tale!! So glad that you were alright and even better that the airline cared (rare to hear these days!)

  2. It’s hard to identify THE most special moment I’ve had with someone so here is just one that comes to mind. Last May, I was back in MN/WI for a conference. I had two great friends I really, really wanted to see but they didn’t know each other. We had some group emails and all involved decided we should get together as a group, not one on one. I spent 24 hours bringing two of my great friends together (one was Catherine!), cooking, sitting outside soaking up sun, and talking about life. It was so wonderful; having two friends from two separate spheres of my life hit it off was sheer bliss.

    Now the “Pick me! Pick me!” business. Pick me cuz… I’m writing my dissertation, trying to find my first professorship, trying to publish and conference, trying to be a wife and cat parent and daughter and friend and sister and aunt… And at the end of the day, I’m stressed and would be thrilled to have some chocolate and some of your favorite things! Have fun with this give-away, whoever you pick.

  3. My most beautiful Valentines moment was in 2001. It was the day I met my gorgeous baby girl for the first time. She decided to come into the world a month early and by emergency Csection, but was completely healthy and the best gift I have ever gotten!

    There have been quite a few times in the last 5 years (the length of time I have been honored to know my hubby). I think the one that stands out the most requires a little background story. I met my husband online and went to his country to meet him in person and we ended up getting married while I was there. I also came home with a surprise, I was pregnant. So, we began our immigration process and of course it took forever (not entirely USCIS’s fault) and in the meantime our daughter was born. Her daddy only seeing her in pictures and on cam. I decided to quit my job and go to his country for several months so he & his family could get to know her and spend time with her. By this time she was almost 5 months old. I will never ever forget the look on both of their faces when they saw each other for the first time, he was so proud of her and she was so curious about him, touching his face and looking in his eyes, smiling at him. It was one of the greatest feelings of my life with our little family being together for the first time, finally.

    The reason I think you should pick me….I’m not sure what makes me more special than anyone else…but I *AM* pregnant, have two little girls, and in school full time (graduating in May, yippee!) so chocolate is always a good thing to keep the bear in me from coming out!

    Thanks for the opportunity to share my story and perhaps win something to boot. Good luck to everyone!

  5. the most special moment I have had with someone was the first time I held my son!
    I would love to win because although my husband is very romantic and thoughtful, his gifts are always a bit off of what I would have wanted!!! Points for trying :-)

      I don’t think you’re alone in the “off gifts” department. Kids really bring us such special memories don’t they?

  6. My memory is the first time my daughter told me that she loved me. It really made my life worth living

  7. This definitely brought me back to think of my great grandmother. I was lucky enough to have her in my first 17 years of my life, and one of the moments I loved most with her was grocery shopping. We’d take a taxi to the grocery store and then spend 2 full hours shopping for her favorite things. She’d of course buy me treats, but as a young teen I was obsessed with a special orange juice we never bought at home and she always bought for me. I know, orange juice, whats so special? No clue, all I remember it was extremely expensive and sugar free. Ha! I loved her and still do, she was like a little porcelain doll with white hair and the palest skin ever. Thanks for letting me share this!

      That’s such a cute story. It’s so wonderful to have grandparents who you are close to and have memories of!

    My favorite memoriy is the first time I met my BF. Not really the whole story, just seeing his green eyes for the first time. I can still picture exactly where we were…even if it is 10 years later!

    And why me? Well, I havent done anything spa related for myself in well over a year, so every part of me would thank you!

  9. Ana Maria Gomez says:

    My husband had offered many moments in life that I treasure deeply in my heart, but the ones I remember with every detail are the day we met and the peace I felt being just by his side, the day we saw our two boys born knowing we were not only a couple but a family, and the day he met my grandma at the humble house I grew up the first time he traveled to Venezuela to meet my family. when I saw how comfortable he was with my culture, family and world, my love and respect for him grew stronger.

    Why me? I just never have the chance to pamper myself because my money always go to our two boys, stepdaughter, and whatever little I have left I have been sending it to my grandma for her physical therapies after she felt and got hip replacement surgery. it has been hard not being able to be by her side after she raised me.

  10. One of my most special memories is the trip that I took with my mother and her sisters to Myrtle Beach, SC just two months before she passed away. We laughed, shopped, relaxed, ate and talked like there was no tomorrow. We took pictures that were the last taken of my mother and I. Of course none of us knew that that trip would be the last set of memories made with my mother as just two months later she passed away from complications of Leukemia after just a short 10 month battle. My aunts and I still talk about that trip to this day and are thankful that we had the chance to make those beautiful memories that will be with us forever. We should always remember to live each day to the fullest, never take our loved ones for granted and to give praise for our blessings and health!

  11. my special moment I will always remember is when my grandmother was able to be at my high school graduation, she dee days later. But I will always remember her holding on to life as much as she could to see me graduate . Just writing this makes me cry. I will always cherish my time with her and her love for me
