I’d love it if you all could leave a happy birthday love message for my little sister. She’s turning 24 today and I can’t give her a hug (if you’re in Seattle you could give her a hug for me!) and I know she could use some good vibes. It’s so weird how time goes by. I was just trying to figure out how old she actually is and when I realized the answer I added again because I thought…gosh she can’t be that old yet…(she is). As the big sister that makes me even older..nooooo!!!
Because it’s Friday I’m sharing a Dorie Greenspan recipe (though not the right one for the cooking group). This is the recipe from the cover of the book and one I had been wanting to make for a long time. It didn’t turn out as good as I had hoped, I think next time I will pull together a little better quality bread, grease the edge of the pan a bit and add more veggies/flavor to the pot.
You can get this complete recipe from Dorie’s book, [amazon_link id="0618875530" target="_blank" ]Around My French Table: More Than 300 Recipes from My Home to Yours[/amazon_link] or find a slightly different version here from her website.
Happy Birthday Ash!!

I made this one a couple of months ago – and it was very tender. Although, I agree that some extra seasoning would probably be beneficial. (It was fun to try the bread seal though)
Glad I wasn’t the only one that was underwhelmed with the flavor!
Wow! I have never seen a pot sealed with bread. That is one unique recipe. I hope it makes FoodGawker
it was very interesting that’s for sure. Really worth checking it out!
